Due to company growth, Carillon’s
archiving was developing into an administrative nightmare. Carillion
had been storing many thousands of boxes of documents, which is
an important business asset, in a maintained, off-site storage
facility. The documents ranged from Architects Instructions through
to Delivery notes. This presented an issue on document retrieval
time, but also on storage costs - which was £1M+ per year
and growing. The prerequisite The software must be easy to use.
It must be understood by all users from secretary to site manager.
It must provide fast document retrieval and instant database access.
Utilise the standard site technology.
Provide off site Disaster Recovery protection.
Clarify the legality of scanned documents for admissibility in court.
Utilise as much of their current equipment as possible whilst at the same time
ensuring security is not breached with any new solution implementation.
